Хендерсон [ Henderson, Richard], отправив впереди себя Д. Буна [ Boone, Daniel], проложившего через Камберлендский перевал "Дорогу диких мест" [ Wilderness Road], дошел до форта Кентукки (впоследствии Бунсборо [Boonesborough]). Однако намерение Хендерсона создать собственную колонию [ proprietary colony] Трансильвания натолкнулось на сопротивление многих поселенцев. Этим попыткам положили конец власти колоний Вирджиния и Северная Каролина, в пределы которых, по хартии короля, входила и Трансильвания.
